Prof Farmani is based in the Centre for Water Systems at Exeter University. She has led Exeter’s contribution to several projects funded by EPSRC, the British Council and the EU.
Her interests span urban water systems, water resources management and asset management and she has particular expertise in multi-objective optimisation of water networks.
She has been publishing in international refereed journals and conferences in the following areas which constitute her research interests: Bayesian networks, Participatory integrated assessment under uncertainty, Adaptive water resources management, Evolutionary optimisation, water supply and distribution systems, irrigation, optimum design, operation, rehabilitation and management of urban water systems, reliability and water quality, constraint handling and multiobjective optimisation.
